The 4.5 mm Lateral Tibial Head Buttress Plate is a robust orthopedic implant designed specifically for the stabilization of fractures in the proximal tibia, including lateral tibial plateau fractures and metaphyseal comminution. Its anatomical contour provides an excellent “buttress” effect, preventing the collapse of the articular surface and maintaining mechanical alignment during bone healing.
Manufactured to exacting international standards, these plates are available in both 316L Stainless Steel for high fatigue strength and Medical Grade Titanium for superior biocompatibility and MRI compatibility.
Technical Specifications
- System Size: 4.5 mm
- Material Options: 316L Stainless Steel / Titanium Alloy (Ti-6Al-4V)
- Design: Anatomically contoured for the lateral proximal tibia
- Screw Compatibility: 4.5 mm Cortical Screws, 6.5 mm Cancellous Screws
Extensive Size Range
To address diverse patient anatomies and fracture lengths, we offer a comprehensive selection of hole configurations:
- Standard Sizes: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 holes
- Extended Sizes: 11, 12, 13, and 15 holes (ideal for bridging complex shaft extensions)
Key Variations & Features
We offer several variations of the Tibial Head Buttress Plate to suit specific surgical techniques:
- Left & Right Orientations: Anatomically pre-curved designs specifically for the Left or Right lateral tibia to minimize the need for intraoperative bending.
- Low-Profile Design: Reduced plate thickness at the proximal head to minimize soft tissue irritation and palpability near the joint.
- Locking vs. Non-Locking: Available in traditional non-locking versions for compression and modern Locking (LCP) versions for superior stability in osteoporotic bone.
- Reinforced Head Geometry: Specialized head designs with multiple screw clusters to provide maximum subchondral support for depressed plateau fractures.
- Surface Finishes: Available in satin (non-glare) or anodized finishes (for Titanium) to aid in size and side identification.
Indications
- Lateral tibial plateau fractures (Schatzker Type I, II, and VI).
- Proximal third fractures of the tibia.
- Non-unions and mal-unions of the proximal metaphyseal area.
