Distal Radius Locking Plate System for Advanced Volar & Dorsal Fixation for Complex Wrist Fractures

The Distal Radius Locking Plate is a premier orthopedic solution specifically engineered for the fixation of intra-articular and extra-articular fractures of the distal radius. Designed to provide superior biomechanical stability, this low-profile plate system minimizes soft tissue irritation while maintaining anatomical alignment.

Available in both Medical Grade Stainless Steel (316L) and Titanium Alloy (Ti-6Al-4V), our plates are biocompatible and optimized for both human and veterinary trauma surgery.

Technical Specifications

  • Plate Thickness: 2.5 mm (Tapered distal edges for minimal palpability)
  • Plate Width: 8.0 mm
  • Fixation Screws: Compatible with 2.4 mm Locking Screws and 2.7 mm Cortex Screws.
  • System Compatibility: Designed for use with standard orthopedic star/torx or cruciform drivers.

Standard Size Variations

  • 2-Hole: 47 mm Length
  • 3-Hole: 56 mm Length
  • 4-Hole: 65 mm Length
  • 5-Hole: 74 mm Length
  • 6-Hole: 83 mm Length

Extended Variations & Seller Options

Beyond the standard straight profile, we offer various geometries and finishes commonly utilized by leading global manufacturers:

  • Anatomical Volar Plates: Pre-contoured left and right-specific designs that mimic the natural volar tilt of the radius.
  • Juxta-Articular Plates: Features additional distal locking holes for multi-planar fixation of styloid fragments.
  • Narrow vs. Wide Shafts: Narrow 8 mm options for pediatric or small-stature patients, and wider 10 mm reinforced shafts for high-energy trauma.
  • Long Bridge Plates: Extended lengths (up to 12 or 15 holes) for fractures with diaphyseal extension.
  • Color-Coded Anodization: Available in Gold, Blue, and Green (Titanium only) for rapid intraoperative size and side identification.
  • Sterile vs. Non-Sterile: Choose between bulk non-sterile packaging for instrument trays or individual sterile-peel pouches.

Key Clinical Benefits

  • Locking Technology: Creates a fixed-angle construct, essential for osteoporotic bone and multi-fragmentary fractures.
  • Reduced Contact Design: Limited-contact undersurface to preserve periosteal blood supply and promote faster healing.
  • Versatility: Ideal for distal radius fractures, osteotomies, and non-unions in both orthopedics and veterinary traumatology.
